The Wilds -approach to #18 - See Mpls skyline @ far right
Many people don't think of Mineapolis as a golf destination, but per capita the area has as many public golf courses as almost any place in the US except perhaps Myrtle Beach and Scottsdale. The quality and price of the public access courses around the Twin Cities is excellent. It's a shame that the golf season isn't longer. When the Spring thaw arrives and the Minnesotans emerge from their cabins and ice fishing huts up North they have lots of choices whichever direction they travel from Minneapolis or St Paul. This is a link to a site with info on all the courses in the area: http://www.twincitiesgolf.com/minnesota_golf_courses_mn.htm I don't get there often enough, but here are a dozen favorites and their direction from Minneapolis/St Paul Airport:
Chaska Town Course - West Troy Burne - East Legends - South Stone Ridge - East Willingers - South The Wilds - South Rush Creek - Northwest Edinburgh USA - North StoneBrooke - South Bunker Hills - North Braemer - West (less thn 10 miles) Baker National - Northwest

Willingers Golf Club, Northfield, MN
Willingers is about a 45 minute drive South of MSP airport and is worth the drive. Seniors can play on Modnays for $35 including cart. The course is interesting and not too tough. There is a good variety and some elevation changes. Pictured to the left is the par 5 sixth hole, one of my favorites on the front.
